Common questions about evaluations and locations

Can I still be seen on Zoom even if I live by an evaluation site?

Yes. Zoom evaluations are available to every family, wherever you live. Many families who live near an evaluation site still choose Zoom for convenience, and you can switch between Zoom and in-person evaluations at any time.

Can I travel to any evaluation site if I prefer to be seen in person?

Yes. You are welcome at any NACD evaluation site, not just the one nearest you. Many families choose a site based on their schedule, family travel, or the evaluation dates that work best for them.

Do we need to live near an evaluation site to do an NACD program?

No. Your program is implemented at home, and evaluations and coaching are available via Zoom teleconference wherever you live. NACD has worked with families in 40+ countries.

What happens at an evaluation?

An NACD evaluation looks at how the individual actually functions across development, education, behavior, and health. From that assessment we build an individualized program, and you are trained and coached to implement it at home.

How often are evaluations?

Programs are reviewed and updated through evaluations about three times a year, with coaching and support between evaluations to keep the program targeted as function changes.

What if there is no evaluation site or hub near me?

NACD works with families worldwide via Zoom teleconference, so distance is not a barrier. If you would like to see NACD activity grow in your area, contact us at info@nacd.org. Hubs develop where families and interest grow.

Does it cost anything to get started?

No. The Get Started program is free: a free application and a free interview with NACD staff to review your situation and confirm fit, with no obligation.
