Acevedo Family
My husband and I are from Mexico and moved to the United States in 2007 due to his work, here we had our two daughters.
Our adventure began when our first daughter was diagnosed as having Down syndrome. Right then we knew we wanted to help her to reach her highest potential, so we began working with her.
By the time she was 11, she wasn’t making much progress and that is when we found NACD. A few months of doing program she began to make progress in all different areas, and we couldn’t be happier. We knew this was the right place for us to be.
A few months into the program we figured our youngest daughter could also benefit from doing program so we have her join and she has been doing amazing with it. It was life changing for our family.
During all those years while working with them I’ve also been learning continuously by reading and taking courses about child development and also by attending conferences about Down syndrome. All those learning opportunities have helped me to better understand the program and how it helps children to reach their highest potential. Which opened the opportunity to be part of NACD as a coach and help our extraordinary families. It’s been an amazing experience as nothing compares to be a helping hand to families that go through similar paths.
