Effective Date: 1-1-2024

NACD LLC (“us”, “we”, or “our”) operates a suite of educational apps, including “Words” and other NACD-branded applications available on the Apple App Store (the “Apps”). This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, and protect user data, particularly as it relates to children and educational purposes.

1. Compliance with COPPA and Child Privacy Laws

Our Apps comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and other relevant child data protection laws. We do not collect, use, or share personally identifiable information (PII) from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent.

2. Data Collection and Use

We do not collect personal data, such as names, addresses, or emails, from children using our Apps. However, we may collect limited, anonymized data to improve the functionality and performance of our Apps. The types of data we collect include:

  • Device Information: Device type, operating system, and app version for troubleshooting and app improvements.
  • Usage Data: Aggregated statistics on how the app is used (e.g., feature interactions, session duration) to enhance the user experience.
  • Crash Reports: Anonymous error reports to identify and fix bugs.

This data is used solely for educational and operational purposes and is never shared for commercial use or third-party advertising.

3. No Targeted Advertising or Third-Party Data Sharing

We do not use targeted advertising, behavioral tracking, or third-party data collection tools that track users across different apps or websites. Specifically:

  • Our Apps do not use Google Ads, Facebook tracking, or any third-party ad networks.
  • We do not collect or share persistent unique identifiers (e.g., IDFA, DeviceID) for advertising purposes.
  • Our Apps do not share data with third parties for commercial or non-educational purposes.

4. In-App Purchases and Payments

Some NACD Apps may offer in-app purchases for additional content or features. Payment processing is handled directly by Apple’s App Store. NACD does not store or process payment information. For Apple’s privacy policies regarding payments, please visit: Apple Privacy.

5. Parental Controls and Account Management

  • Parents and guardians can manage in-app purchases and content access through Apple’s Screen Time settings.
  • Our Apps do not require children to create accounts, provide emails, or disclose personal information.

6. Data Security Measures

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect collected data, including:

  • Encryption of data in transit and at rest.
  • Secure cloud storage that complies with data protection laws.
  • Limited internal access to data for troubleshooting and app improvement.

7. Your Rights and Choices

If you are a parent or guardian and believe we have unintentionally collected personal data from your child, you may request to:

  • Review the information collected (if any).
