Steve Riggs has a B.S. in neuroscience and extensive specialized training and experience. Steve has had an association with NACD since 1997. He brings some vital knowledge and talents to NACD, including 30 years of experience involving children with a broad range of neurological issues and challenges. Steve has directed clinics and trained personnel in neurophysiology, cardiopulmonary, and sleep disorders and has lectured around the United States and in Europe on issues ranging from neurology to maximization of personal potential.

One of NACD's and Steve's interests and concerns focuses upon the cardiopulmonary and health issues that often dramatically affect not only the development and wellbeing of many of our children--particularly those with Down Syndrome, genetic issues, and brain injuries--but often their very lives. Steve understands that helping parents and professionals understand the significance of these issues, educating and empowering parents, and coordinating the various associated professionals is a very critical and imperative component in helping our children.

Steve's knowledge of Bob Doman's personal commitment and compassion for children and their families worldwide has left an indelible impression on him. Steve's study in neuroscience and NACD has created an appreciation of NACD's approaches and techniques and a passion for furthering and expanding the work and philosophy of the organization. Steve believes the entire basis for NACD's work and techniques used for the care and improvement of children is philosophically sound and has a solid base in current science. He believes NACD has an approach that re-imagines care and creation of strong and supportive families in assisting to stimulate and use the potential that is already part of every child.

Steve resides in Ogden, Utah and works out of the national office. Steve has two great sons who have been active participants in NACD programs since their infancy.
